Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. is proud to announce that CJ Griffin, partner and director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center, has been included in NJBIZ’s 2024 Law Power 50 List. According to NJBIZ, the annual Law Power 50 list “highlights the 50 most influential men and women leading New Jersey’s legal profession.”  Griffin, along with the other honorees, are recognized for “helping to make New Jersey a better place to live, work and do business” and having “contributed meaningfully to the advancement of the public interest through their work and/or community service.” Griffin was recognized for her ongoing work with the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center.

Griffin serves as partner and director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, which was established in 2019. The center is dedicated to a broad range of public interest impact litigation and appellate advocacy that advances social, racial and economic justice; protects civil liberties and constitutional rights; and promotes open and transparent government. Her practice focuses media law, appellate advocacy, employment, criminal defense and cannabis law. And Griffin has built a considerable appellate practice, arguing before the New Jersey Supreme Court nearly 20 times and working on close to 60 cases that have become published opinions. Her practice also focuses on media law, employment, civil rights and criminal defense. She has extensive experience representing media companies, nonprofit organizations and individuals in Open Public Records Act (OPRA) litigations, of which several have resulted in landmark decisions from the Supreme Court and Appellate Division. Griffin has been the recipient of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey’s “Honorable Lawrence A. Whipple Memorial Award” and Partners for Women and Justice’s “Partner in Justice Award.” She has been named an “Attorney of the Year Finalist” twice by the New Jersey Law Journal and was one of the Star Ledger’s “20 New Jerseyans to Watch” in 2020.
