Pro Bono
We encourage our attorneys to volunteer their time and provide pro bono legal services to individuals and organizations. Through the firm’s Pro Bono Policy, we support our attorneys’ pro bono work by providing credit toward billable hour goals. Our commitment to pro bono representation and public interest advocacy helps staff a significant portion of the legal work performed by the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden.
Our commitment to pro bono representation allows us to send a message both internally and externally that the practice of law is more than just a business. We believe it is our responsibility as lawyers and as a law firm to lean in, contribute to the public good, and give back. We believe this commitment serves as a source of pride to our employees and it furthers our objective to build an institution that is part of a larger community.
Many of our attorneys also volunteer their time and experience to academic, civic, cultural, political and religious organizations and foundations that interest them, from serving on boards and councils both locally and statewide, to earning leadership positions with bar associations, philanthropic organizations, and educational institutions. Some serve their communities by being elected or appointed to public offices.
