CJ Griffin Interviewed by NJ Spotlight News About Proposed Changes to Public Records Access
CJ Griffin, partner and director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was interviewed by NJ Spotlight News in a segment titled “Proposed Changes to Public Records Access Spurs Sharp Debate”. The segment discussed proposed changes to alter current state laws regarding access to public records and government documents, as well as a fee shift that would negatively impact both the public and attorneys.
“This is just an atrocity. It’s shocking that anyone would actually put it on paper and introduce it in a legislative session,” said Griffin.
“The average person who just really needs a record for some reason or another, or the media that can’t afford to pay attorneys, they won’t be able to hire lawyers anymore,” Griffin said, commenting on the fee shift in the proposed bills.
