CJ Griffin Quoted in New Jersey Monitor Article Discussing Controversial Law Allowing Police Officers to Review Body Cam Footage Before Writing Reports
CJ Griffin, Partner and Director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, was quoted in the New Jersey Monitor article “Gov. Murphy signs flurry of bills just before second term begins.” The article discusses new laws passed by Governor Murphy, including a controversial law allowing police officers to review body cam footage before writing reports, which reformers fear will allow officers to evade accountability.
C.J. Griffin is a New Jersey attorney who has fought for police accountability.
“It’s frustrating that the governor is starting his second term off by rolling back the benefits of body cams and enabling bad apples,” Griffin said. “We need to hear how the governor is going to reform policing, because so far nothing has happened, and this only makes things worse.”
