CJ Griffin Quoted in Opinion of Star Ledger Editorial Board Discussing Attorney General Gurbir Grewal's Resignation from Office as a Loss for the State
CJ Griffin, director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was quoted in an opinion of the Star Ledger Editorial Board, “On police reform, N.J.’s Attorney General was the right man for the moment.” The editorial discusses how Attorney General Gurbir Grewal’s departure from office will be a loss for the state given his accomplishments in the area of police transparency, while noting that there is still much more work to be done, and suggests that state legislators should cement it all into law.
But even Grewal’s most progressive critics who wish he’d gone much further fear what might happen when he’s gone. “Any successor could come in and erase everything on day 1, with a couple strokes of the pen,” warns CJ Griffin, a prominent open public records lawyer.
