CJ Griffin Quoted in Trentonian.com Article Discussing the Failure to Provide Executive-Session Minutes of Trenton's Parking Authority
CJ Griffin, director of the Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was quoted in The Trentonian article, “Trenton Parking Authority commissioners mum over meetings violations amid ethics probe.” The article discusses the issue of missing documents that could have shed light on alleged backroom dealing at the Trenton Parking Authority. The Trenton Parking Authority’s Board of Commissioners failed to produce documents in response to The Trentonian’s public records request for executive-session minutes pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA).
“Our Sunshine Law guarantees that the public gets to see its government discuss policy and make decisions in full view," said CJ Griffin, who has represented The Trentonian in lawsuits against the city of Trenton for violating OPMA and the Open Public Records Act. “The failure to keep minutes deprives the public of their right to know.”
