Denise Alvarez Joins Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. as Counsel in Commercial Litigation Group in NY Office
Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. announced today that Denise Alvarez has joined the firm as counsel in the Commercial Litigation practice group at the firm’s New York office in Westchester County. Alvarez was previously in the Complex Commercial Litigation Group of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York. During law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor at the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, in New York. She has also served as a pro bono extern for LatinoJustice PRLDEF in New York.

Alvarez represents clients in litigation, mediation and arbitration, in matters involving contracts, antitrust, bankruptcy, class actions and copyright law. She represented one of North America’s largest suppliers of chemical products and services in multidistrict litigation with over 70 consolidated cases and claims valued by plaintiffs at hundreds of millions of dollars. In addition, she has substantial experience conducting and overseeing internal investigations, as well as interfacing with governmental entities in connection with their investigations. She also represents companies in a variety of business torts, including claims for tortious interference, conversion, fraud, unjust enrichment, breach of fiduciary duty and unfair competition.

Alvarez is admitted to the New York Bar as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association. In 2015, she received the Top 25 Pro Bono Advocate Award from NY Legal Services in recognition of her pro bono work in naturalization matters.
Alvarez received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Pace University School of Law in 2002 and her B.A., summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany in 1999.
