Jhanice V. Domingo, Chair of the Family Law Practice at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. has been appointed to the New Jersey State Bar Association Judicial & Prosecutorial Appointments Committee (NJSBA JPAC). Prior to Jhanice’s appointment to NJSBA JPAC, she served as Chair of the Judicial & Prosecutorial Appointments Committee of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey (APALA-NJ JPAC) for over a decade.
During her more than 10-year tenure as Chair of APALA-NJ's JPAC, Jhanice not only facilitated appointments but also fostered dialogue and advocacy for increased diversity within New Jersey's judiciary. Jhanice’s leadership as former APALA-NJ JPAC Chair was instrumental in facilitating historic judicial nominations to the state's Supreme Court, as well as several judicial appointments to the state’s Superior Court and the United States District Court of New Jersey.
Her contributions extended beyond direct appointments, as evidenced by her published commentary in prominent legal publications and newspapers, addressing the pressing need for diversity within New Jersey’s bench. Additionally, Jhanice helped organize Continuing Legal Education seminars aimed at demystifying the appointment process and served as a moderator and speaker in seminars focused on creating pathways to the judiciary for diverse attorneys. Jhanice’s transition from APALA-NJ JPAC to NJSBA JPAC marks a significant evolution in Jhanice's commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and excellence in our judicial system.
