After being named a finalist for the “Office Managing Partner of the Year” award by the New Jersey Law Journal as part of its 2024 New Jersey Legal Awards, Michael S. Stein, managing partner and firm chair of Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was featured in a Q&A with the New Jersey Law Journal.

In response to the question about challenges in managing law firms in recent years, Stein noted:

The increasing competition for talent and rising AmLaw salaries has created new challenges; but we have continued to appeal to laterals leaving Big Law, as they see our dedication to having a special environment. I’ve been known for sharing this personal goal with attorneys and staff: to ensure they have the same spring in their step on Monday morning when they come in to work as they do on Friday evening as they head out with their family and friends. We have created a culture that prioritizes not just top shelf and intellectually stimulating work but also work/life balance and the deliberate effort to bring meaning, purpose, and passion into the daily professional experience for all of our employees - the opportunity of “doing good while doing well.”
