Hackensack, New Jersey (February 26, 2025) - Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of Seth A. Goldberg as a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice and as co-chair of the firm’s Cannabis & Hemp Law practice, effective February 24, 2025. Goldberg previously practiced law for 22 years at the Philadelphia office of Duane Morris LLP after four years at Boies Schiller & Flexner LLP. Goldberg’s arrival expands Pashman Stein’s northeast footprint with an office location in the heart of downtown Philadelphia at One Commerce Square, 2005 Market Street. As of March 1, 2025, Pashman Stein will have five offices in four states: New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Goldberg will lead the Philadelphia office and be an integral part of its recruitment and growth strategy.

“We welcome Seth to our firm and to our new Philadelphia location,” said firm chair and managing partner Michael S. Stein. “I have known Seth for many years, having worked closely with him on a major litigation. We were very impressed by the outstanding quality of his work and his character. Growing our presence in the northeast has been part of our strategic growth plan, and Seth’s extensive knowledge of the Philadelphia legal and business community makes him the ideal person to lead the new office. I expect that further expansion in Philadelphia and southern New Jersey will focus on our corporate law, real estate, litigation, and intellectual property practices.”

“Seth’s knowledge of Pennsylvania state and federal courts and substantial experience as lead and local counsel litigating complex commercial disputes adds to our already formidable litigation bench,” added Brendan M. Walsh, co-chair of the firm’s Litigation practice. “His impressive representation of businesses and executives in complex commercial matters, including class actions and multi-district litigation, as well as in the health care, life sciences, and pharmaceutical industries, enhances and broadens our capabilities.”

As a commercial litigator, Goldberg advises clients in matters involving complex contracts and arrangements; antitrust and unfair competition; products liability and consumer fraud; fiduciary duties and corporate governance; tortious interference with contract; and non-compete violations. He regularly appears in federal and state courts, arbitrations and mediations, and he has had lead and liaison roles in class actions and multi-district litigation.

Sean Mack, co-chair of Pashman Stein’s Litigation practice and co-chair of its Cannabis & Hemp Law practice commented, “Seth has built an extensive cannabis and hemp practice and is nationally ranked in Chambers & Partners USA for Cannabis Law.  As co-chairs of our Cannabis & Hemp practice, Seth and I will counsel industry and ancillary clients across the country with strategies driven by Pashman Stein’s significant industry experience in New Jersey and Seth’s national experience and Philadelphia ties.”

For many years, Goldberg has represented clients with cannabis- and hemp-related interests in business disputes and litigation, regulatory matters and actions, and mergers and acquisitions. He possesses a deep working knowledge of the complex federal and state laws and regulations that impact cannabis businesses and ancillary entities. He has worked with the American Trade Association for Cannabis and Hemp and industry stakeholders on issues of high importance to the cannabis industry.

“Leading the firm’s expansion to Philadelphia is a tremendous opportunity.  Pashman Stein’s lawyers are skilled in sophisticated and complex matters, and I am excited to join them in providing clients in the Philadelphia and South Jersey region with high-caliber representation,” said Goldberg. “The firm’s collegial culture is second to none and extends to outstanding client service.  I am thrilled to be part of the team.”

Goldberg earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, and his B.A from Temple University. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and Washington, D.C.
