Seth A. Goldberg, partner in the Commercial Litigation practice and co-chair of the Cannabis & Hemp Law practice, at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, was featured in a Law360 Pulse article titled, “Pashman Stein Enters Philly Market With Duane Morris Atty.”

Goldberg joined Pashman Stein on February 24, 2025 and will lead the firm’s newest office in Philadelphia, located at One Commerce Square, opening March 1, 2025. Goldberg previously practiced law for 22 years at the Philadelphia office of Duane Morris LLP after four years at Boies Schiller & Flexner LLP. With the opening of the Philadelphia office, Pashman Stein will have 5 offices in 4 states: New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

Quoting firm chair and managing partner Michael S. Stein:

Stein said the new office is part of the firm's strategic plan to grow its presence in the northeast and expand beyond its New Jersey roots. The firm is in its 30th year of operation, Stein said, and he expects the Philadelphia office's priorities will remain the same as the rest of its locations, "to bring smart solutions to sophisticated legal disputes, and to do so in a positive work environment." "Our Philadelphia office is expected to grow as our Delaware office has, likely with lateral recruitment from large law firms, as our attorneys enjoy practicing law in our collaborative culture and at cost-effective rate structures," Stein said. Our Philadelphia office focus is commercial litigation, corporate transactions, real estate, and of course serving the needs of existing clients who have come to know us through our Delaware, New York and New Jersey capabilities. "Recruitment is at the top of Goldberg's list of priorities as he helps Pashman Stein get the Philadelphia office off the ground. He is primarily focusing on attorneys specializing in corporate and transactional work, real estate and intellectual property, with room for commercial litigators and white collar attorneys.

Discussing why he made the move to Pashman Stein, Goldberg was quoted as saying that “he moved his practice to Pashman Stein after nearly 22 years with Duane Morris for the opportunity to work with "incredibly skilled and talented lawyers," and to have the "unique experience of building an office from the ground floor." "Moving to Pashman Stein is a tremendous opportunity professionally and personally," Goldberg said. “The rate flexibility at Pashman Stein should benefit existing clients and be attractive to new clients. From a personal standpoint, I will be working at a firm where every lawyer and staff person I have met has raved about the firm's culture and management."

Quoting Brendan M. Walsh, co-chair of the Litigation practice at Pashman Stein:

"Seth's knowledge of Pennsylvania state and federal courts and substantial experience as lead and local counsel litigating complex commercial disputes adds to our already formidable litigation bench," said Brendan M. Walsh, co-chair of Pashman Stein's litigation practice, in a statement. "His impressive representation of businesses and executives in complex commercial matters, including class actions and multidistrict litigation, as well as in the health care, life sciences, and pharmaceutical industries, enhances and broadens our capabilities."
