Timothy P. Malone Featured in New Jersey Law Journal Q&A About Teamwork

Timothy P. Malone was selected for inclusion in the 2023 list of “Unsung Heroes” by the New Jersey Law Journal as part of its New Jersey Legal Awards. According to the New Jersey Law Journal, the “Unsung Heroes” award celebrates attorneys who play a crucial, but potentially less visible, role in achieving excellence on their legal teams. The Unsung Heroes traditionally epitomize teamwork. In this Q&A, Malone is asked several questions about being a part of a team and his work ethic.

Law practice is often a team endeavor. What has been your experience with teamwork in the law?

Teamwork is essential in practicing law, to take advantage of different expertise and points of view, and to make sure no avenue of meeting the client’s goals is missed. I’ve been lucky to work at a firm where teamwork is valued, and where even the ideas of the most junior attorney on the team are welcomed and considered. I pride myself on my writing and analytical skills, but I still rely on the assistance of other lawyers—both those junior and senior to me—to offer feedback, to give an outside perspective when I have been “in the trenches” on a matter, and to bounce ideas off of to make sure we are always putting our best foot forward.
