CJ Griffin Co-Authored Article in Media Law Letter Regarding Landmark New Jersey Supreme Court Rulings on Transparency in Law EnforcementĀ

CJ Griffin, director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., and Brittany Burns, law clerk at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., co-authored an article in the April 2022 Media Law Resource Center Media Law Letter, “New Jersey Supreme Court Rules to Release Police Disciplinary Records.” The article discusses how two recent landmark New Jersey Supreme Court decisions have reshaped the landscape for New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act and common law access. The article further discusses how both rulings serve to affirm the importance of offering public access to records that would otherwise conceal acts of misconduct within law enforcement.
