Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. is proud to announce that its Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights practice was named winner of the “Dealmakers” award by the New Jersey Law Journal as part of its 2024 New Jersey Legal Awards, which took place on October 29, 2024 in East Brunswick, NJ.
“Given New Jersey’s prominence as a go-to venue for bankruptcy filings, and the other outstanding firms in the state, it is an honor for our bankruptcy practice group to be recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as the winner of this award,” remarked John W. Weiss, chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights practice. “In just over two years, our group has experienced unprecedented growth, exceeding expectations and providing exceptional value to clients by offering top-notch legal services at a more cost-effective rate structure.”
Established in 2022 when Weiss left his partnership at an AmLaw 50 firm, the group now includes 10 full-time members, including 2 Chambers-ranked attorneys. The group and its members serve as trusted counsel in a broad range of distressed and bankruptcy situations for a wide variety of parties, including debtors, official and unofficial committees, secured and unsecured creditors, indenture trustees, agents, collateral managers, court appointed trustees, lessors and lessees of real and personal property, parties to executory contracts, trade creditors, critical vendors, parties in avoidance actions, and other significant parties.
In the past two years, the department has also developed a strong practice serving as debtors’ counsel in Chapter 11 proceedings under Subchapter V of the Bankruptcy Code, obtaining approval of numerous reorganization plans under Subchapter V and becoming a go-to resource for small- and middle-market businesses in distress.
The group also regularly advises accounting, financial advisory, investment banking, and other restructuring advisory firms regarding bankruptcy issues affecting their businesses and services to their clients.
